School Safety Objectives

- Communicate with staff and parents about safety and security on school grounds.
- Work with JLES staff to update and clearly communicate specific policies and procedures for allergy safety.

PTA Committee Objectives

- Provide parent resource information to parents in the form of handouts or speakers.
- At each PTA meeting have relevant information available (minutes, budget, calendar).
- Encourage younger grade level parents to take on committee positions.

Community Service Objectives

- Continue school supply and coat/mitten donations to students at Jones Lane and Glen Haven Elementary Schools.
- Implement additional community service/charitable programs as determined by Community Service Chairperson(s).

School Improvement Objectives

- Continue beautification and improvement of school grounds and outdoor classroom.
- Explore possibilities for procurement of equipment and technology improvement through grant-writing, donations, MCPS initiatives, and/or fundraising.

Communication Objectives

- Update JLES PTA website and put current information on the website quickly.
- Continue outreach to Hispanic families, including Spanish translation of PTA communication.
- Provide specific outreach to new families and Elementary Learning Center (ELC) families.

Fundraising and Recreation Objectives

- Provide support to our major fundraising activities.
- Continue to support Community Nights Out.
- Revise budget and budgetary procedures to reflect specific fundraising goals & results.
